Historic Architectural Survey

Highlighted Project

Plymouth, Massachusetts

Surveys designed to locate, identify, and evaluate historic architecture are an essential element of most projects undertaken by PAL’s team of architectural historians. The primary goal of a historic architectural survey is to provide the client or review agency with sufficient historical and descriptive information to make judgments about a property’s potential eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. PAL has completed more than 150 historic architectural surveys, encompassing thousands of buildings, structures, objects, landscapes, and sites. Our experienced architectural project staff has expertise in evaluating the full range of historic aboveground resources, including buildings, cultural landscapes, cemeteries, railroads, bridges, and industrial properties. We have developed innovative, technology-based processes that facilitate data collection, processing, and analysis while maintaining strict compliance with the requirements of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Historic Preservation Projects and other applicable state and federal guidelines.
