Specialized archaeological laboratory services use state-of-the-art equipment and computer software programs. Recovery of microbotanical, microfaunal, and microlithic archaeological samples is accomplished using a flotation system. PAL’s floral, faunal, shellfish, charcoal, prehistoric and historic ceramic, historic bottle/glassware, and lithic type collections facilitate the identification and analysis of recovered archaeological materials. Artifact conservation includes stabilization and archival packaging. Artifact photography and illustration enhance analyses and publications.
