Specialized archaeological laboratory services use state-of-the-art equipment and computer software programs. Recovery of microbotanical, microfaunal, and microlithic archaeological samples is accomplished using a flotation system. PALs floral, faunal, shellfish, charcoal, prehistoric and historic ceramic, historic bottle/glassware, and lithic type collections facilitate the identification and analysis of recovered archaeological materials. Artifact conservation includes stabilization and archival packaging. Artifact photography and illustration enhance analyses and publications. Our staff of archaeologists, complemented by specialist consultants, represents a wide array of environmental disciplines including ecology, geology, geomorphology, soil science, and paleontology.
