Historic Structure Reports

Our report components provide clients with invaluable information on the historical context and significance of a building or structure.

Historic Structure Reports (HSRs) provide detailed documentation and analysis of a structure to document its architectural and historical significance. Following National Park Service standards, we prepare components of a larger HSR, including building history and evolution, key dates, treatment recommendations, and historic preservation objectives.

Our HSR recommendations help clients identify the significant historic characteristics and character defining features of a structure, providing clients the necessary information to guide decision-making for building maintenance and treatment. Our clients have utilized HSRs for cultural stewardship, cyclical maintenance, capital projects, and restoration and rehabilitation efforts.

Services include:

  • Research and technical writing

  • Archival photography and images

  • Historical narrative and chronology

  • Treatment recommendations
