Section 106 Consultation
PAL assists clients in successfully navigating the regulatory review process established by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966.
The law requires that federal agencies take into account the effects of their undertakings on historic properties through consultation among the agency official, Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, State Historic Preservation Officer/Tribal Historic Preservation Officer, and other interested parties.
PAL provides expert advice in conducting the process and offers a full array of historic property identification, evaluation, effects assessment, agreement development, and mitigation services.
Some of the federal agencies that PAL has provided Section 106 consultation for include the Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, Army, Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Highway Administration, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the National Park Service.
